Gilgit: In yasin, a minor disabled girl was sexually assaulted, an unmarried 15-year-old girl became pregnant, both the mother and child died during an operation at the Provincial Headquarters Hospital, Gilgit. During the operation, the dead child was removed from the stomach, while women went into a comma during childbirth, later she was also died. The newborn was buried in Gilgit while the woman was buried in Yasin. The police have registered a report of the incident and started the investigation. According to the FIR registered in the Yasin police station of district ghizer Gilgit Baltistan, the woman’s age is stated to be 15 years, while she was physically and mentally disabled.
It is known that the said unmarried young girl is not only pregnant, but the child in her stomach has also been lost at the age of 7 months. The hospital staff performed an operation and removed the child, but in the meantime, the woman also went into a comma, after which she did not regain consciousness and died. According to the preliminary report of the Yasin police station, the said woman was sexually assaulted 6-7 months ago, as a result of which an illegitimate pregnancy remained in her womb. The police station has registered a case under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the unknown accused and started investigation. According to police station sources, the investigation has been started with the close relatives and neighbors, but if necessary, the scope of the investigation will be widened. The close sources said that the said woman was not able to maintain consciousness in terms of language and intellect apart from the disease of not growing in height. On the other hand, the social circles have expressed deep concern over this and appealed to the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan and Inspector General of Police to use all resources to suppress such social beasts and arrest the accused. Severe punishment should be given.
