LORALAI: The Loralai district administration has set a target of enrolling 5,000 children in schools during the recent enrollment drive launched in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Loralai, Sajjad Aslam Baloch in a press conference regarding the annual admission campaign 2024 at the DC office said that all available resources will be utilized to enroll maximum number of children during the recent admission campaign launched for the academic year 2024.
He said there are 416 public schools in the district.
The Balochistan government has launched an enrollment campaign in the province to create awareness among parents to enroll their children in schools to reduce the huge number of out-of-school children in the province.
Sajjad said the Department of Education with the support of UNICEF is organizing public rallies in the district to create awareness among the masses to enroll their out-of-school children for literacy in the area.
He said the district administration was committed to enroll maximum number of out-of-school children at the primary level to increase the literacy rate.
The DC said that the administration specifically focused on girls’ education as the female literacy situation was very poor in that area.
He asked parents, teachers, political workers, district school officials and religious leaders from local communities to play their part in enrolling out-of-school children.
He further said that the government is committed to ensure the availability of teachers in school and every child in school under the educational emergency programme. Sajjad said 5000 trees will also be planted in schools during the tree planting drive in the district.
