Kai Trump, the eldest granddaughter of former United States President Donald Trump, stole the show when she made her political debut on the stage of the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old daughter of Donald Jr., the former president’s oldest son, and his ex-wife Vanessa gave her grandfather a short but personal tribute, NPR reported.
The 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate was all smiles through her heartfelt speech.
Kai’s dad introduced her on stage and said it was her “first time on stage” and “first time giving a speech”.
After introducing herself to the crowd as “Donald Trump’s granddaughter,” Kai began her speech by saying, “I’m speaking today to share a side of my grandfather that people don’t often see.
“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing at school.”
She continued, “Even though she’s going through all these court cases, she’s always asking me how I’m doing. She’s always encouraging me to push myself to be the most successful person I can be.”
“Obviously he’s setting the bar pretty high, but who knows, maybe I’ll catch him one day.”
Who is Kai Trump?
Kai is an avid golfer and recently posted a photo on Instagram of herself standing next to her grandfather after winning a tournament at the Trump International Palm Beach golf course.
She offered words of support for Trump in a post following the recent assassination attempt on him.
