The Senate of the National Skills University Islamabad, which is presided over by the Chancellor/President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, affirms its faith in Professor Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar and feels that his leadership would further enhance the standing of this university. According to a news statement, “Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad until a regular incumbent is appointed.”
Upon his entrance in October 2019 as the inaugural Vice Chancellor of the National Skills University Islamabad, Dr. Mukhtar and his team encountered numerous obstacles as the location was abandoned and inhabited by undocumented residents. The university has undergone a remarkable transformation under his innovative leadership, becoming a busy Skills Learning Center and receiving recognition from UNESCO/UNEVOC as a leading provider of skills.
Throughout his time as the first Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mukhtar has demonstrated an unrelenting dedication to diversity, innovation, and academic excellence. He has been instrumental in establishing the university’s character and creating an atmosphere that is favorable to the teaching and learning of skills.
