LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Medical Commission Chairman Dr Sohail Saleem resigned on Thursday.
According to sources, Saleem’s decision came after the players’ medical reports were published.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has set up an independent inquiry committee to assess the injuries of injured players like Ihsanullah, Arshad Iqbal and Zeeshan Zamir. The committee submitted its report to the Cricket Board.
Naqvi announced that strict action will be taken against those responsible if the report shows failure to diagnose the players’ injuries.
It should be noted that the resignation of Dr. Saleem is not like that; had previously withdrawn from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but returned to the board under former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf.
