LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan will meet on Thursday (today) to review the Sunni Itttehad Council’s request for allotment of reserved seats to the party.
Sources said that the ECP will review the SIC application in its important consultation meeting and take a final decision on whether to allot the reserved seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council or otherwise.
If the ECP has decided to allocate reserved seats to the SIC, the Commission will give one reserved seat to the party against its every 4.5 general seats.

The sources further said that if the SIC is denied seats reserved for women and minorities, other political parties will get reserved seats at a ratio of one for every three general seats they win.
The ECP is likely to announce the party’s initial stand today.
