ISLAMABAD: Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP) Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan on Wednesday said that Pakistan’s economy has improved under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the PML-N-led coalition government is doing its best to provide relief to the people.
Addressing a press conference, Rana said that the government has brought down the inflation rate and will soon overcome the financial problems.
He said the signing of multi-billion investment projects with China, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and others will create numerous job opportunities for the youth in Pakistan.
The Speaker reiterated his commitment that the government is committed to empowering the youth through several revolutionary initiatives and is taking vital steps for the betterment of the youth.
He added that technical training would be provided directly to two hundred thousand and indirectly to six to eight hundred thousand youth this year under various skill development programs as there was a high demand for skilled manpower abroad.
Mashhood gave details of Commonwealth Secretary General RT Patricia Scotland’s successful first visit to Pakistan and reported that several agreements and MoUs were signed.
He said the signing of free training of Pakistani youth in eight main streams of artificial intelligence in collaboration with Commonwealth Forum and Intel Corporation would create numerous jobs and earning opportunities for Pakistan, which would be officially launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on International Youth Day on August 12.
He said that the establishment of Asian Youth Alliance Secretariat, Digital Education Portal, National Volunteer Corps and Commonwealth Youth Parliamentary Forum will bring multi-faceted openings in education, sports and industry to Pakistan’s talented youth.
Rana further added that the Green Youth Movement (GYM), an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, is creating awareness and sensitizing the youth about the effects of climate change.
He said that out of 268 universities in Pakistan, PMYP GYM had established clubs in 137 public sector universities in Pakistan which would be extended to all universities, colleges and schools to prepare the youth to deal with risk management issues including rains, earthquakes, floods and others .
The PMYP Chairman said that Pakistan has talented youth and it plays a key role in the country’s progress towards rapid development. “We are committed to preparing our youth to excel in various fields, from industry-based technologies to traditional crafts. This holistic approach will enable them to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he added.
