The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Monday released a report on the death toll and loss of property in the province due to heavy rains for the past three days.
According to preliminary information, eight people died and 12 were injured. The dead included four children, three men and one woman, and the injured included four women, six men and two children.
According to reports, a total of 85 houses were damaged due to the collapse of walls and roofs in different districts, of which 15 houses were completely damaged and 70 houses were partially damaged.
Due to heavy rains, various districts like Upper Dir, Lower Chitral, Swat, Malakand and Bajaur have experienced life and financial losses.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa directed the concerned district administration to provide immediate relief to the affected families and provide best medical facilities to the injured.
Due to continuous heavy rains, water flow in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa river is normal.
The current of the Kabul River in Nowshera averages 98,500 cubic meters.
Heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa left one person dead in Malakand district and two children injured when a roof collapsed due to heavy rains.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the incident took place in Hari Sakhakot area of Malakand district where Gul Mohammed died in the dust while his daughter Maryam and his 18-year-old relative Shah Wazir were injured. The injured children were taken to hospital where they are said to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the rain caused landslides in Chitral and Dir districts due to the Ayun Bumborate in Bobash, Chitral Garam Chashma Road, Mirhani Arandu Road, Damil, Rumboor Road, Shishikoh Madaklash Road in Pursad Nallah, Lower Lawari Road Chitral, Talash Shamsi Khan road diversion. and Bagh Dushkel near Pingal in Lower Dir and Dir Barawal Road in Upper Dir and Chokyatn Sheringal Patrak Road, Sheringal Kumrat Road in Upper Dir were blocked and restoration work was done by the district administration.
CM sets up emergency control room: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has set up an emergency control room at the Ship Minister Secretariat. Deputy Secretary (Administration) Mohsin Iqbal has been appointed as Central/Emergency Response Room Officer.
The Emergency Response Room will coordinate all activities, information and emergency situations with relevant stakeholders.
