Delightful Ethiopian cuisine takes center stage at the Africa Day 2024 celebration, attracting the interest of many attendees due to its rich flavor, variety and cultural significance.
Cultural displays, African heritage and various cuisines from different African countries were showcased at the event to commemorate Africa Day 2024 and build strong ties between African countries and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On arrival, guests were welcomed by the Dean of the African Group, H.E. welcome. Moroccan Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune and the head of the delegation of other African countries.
Federal Minister of Energy H.E. Mussadaq Masood Malik graced the occasion as a guest.
Various African countries, Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Zimbabwe and others have set up food stalls and kitchens here to offer the unique taste and variety of African cuisine.
However, a food stall organized by the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Islamabad attracted a large number of participants who enjoyed the deep culinary traditions of Ethiopia.
Ethiopian grocery stores have Enjra, Doro Wot, Shiro Wot, Kitfo, Chechbsa with honey, Minchet, Fosolya, Tibs, Ayeb, Defo Dabo, and that Ethiopian coffee, sweet and drinkable.
The guests also shared their thoughts on Ethiopian food.
Adnan Hamed, one of the visitors, said that Ethiopian food is similar to Pakistan in taste and cuisine, which shows a strong connection between the two countries. “In fact, Enjra and Doro Wot made me want to try and taste all the Ethiopian flavors in this store,” he said.
Ms. Jamila, a member of the Ethiopian diaspora in Pakistan, said, “We are proud of our unique cuisine that is vibrant and fragrant. I can guarantee that every bite of Ethiopian food will leave you wanting more.”
