Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Social Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said that the jailed PTI founder was conspiring to create another “political chaos” in the country.
Speaking on Geo News program ‘Naya Pakistan’, Sanaullah said that the PTI founder was not allowed by the court to hold a political meeting in Adiala jail.
“A PTI founder cannot be allowed to make such a plan to create chaos while in jail,” he said, adding that the evidence available with relevant leaders corroborates the plan being carried out in jail.
The prime minister’s aide said the government had no audio or video evidence of the plan, but that it was “on the part of the party responsible and acting”.
A statement from the former interior minister said the leader of the former ruling party was not allowed to meet its founder, who is being held in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, despite waiting for hours outside the facility earlier this week.
Commenting on the former party’s planned meeting in Islamabad, a senior PML-N leader said the Imran-led party’s decision to hold a Muharram show of strength was inappropriate. “PTI wants to create political chaos through mass rally”.
However, he termed PTI’s revocation of permission for the Islamabad rally an “administrative decision” and denied the government’s influence in the move.
It can be mentioned here that PTI has called its rally in Islamabad this morning after the cancellation of NOC for the electricity exhibition will be held in Chief Commissioner Tarnol federal capital.
The PTI leader then approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking to drop the case against the Islamabad administration for being denied permission for the rally.
Sanaullah in today’s show alleged that foreign elements supported PTI in the insurgency on May 9 last year to create chaos in the country.
“Enemy countries want to spread anarchy in Pakistan through PTI,” he said.
On 9 May 2023, protesters targeted civilian and military facilities – Jinnah House and General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, which led to the arrest of the PTI founder. The military called May 9 “Black Day” and decided to try the protesters under martial law.
Sanaullah said that if the federal minister takes any decision in this matter, the evidence of PTI receiving foreign aid can be made public.
