ISLAMABAD—The 3rd Convocation ceremony of Fazaia Medical College, Islamabad was held at the main auditorium of Air University, Islamabad to celebrate the rewarding moments that marked the achievements and dedication of its exceptional graduates. Former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt NI (M) graced the occasion as Chief guest.
The convocation ceremony was organized for the MBBS 3rd batch of 2017 of Fazaia Medical College. The Chief Guest has conferred upon the degrees and awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to the graduates who secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions respectively in their University Professional examinations. The convocation was attended by senior armed forces officials, senior members of civil society, Vice Chancellors of medical universities, principals of private and civil medical colleges, and students’ parents.
Fazaia Medical College (FMC), under the esteemed leadership of its Principal Professor Maj Gen Tahir Khadim HI(M), is reckoned for its academic excellence. The state-of-the-art teaching facilities, highly qualified faculty, integrated modular curriculum, and well-equipped skill lab which is advancing towards simulation adds to the superiority in theoretical knowledge and practical experience of students. Affiliated with FMC, PAF Teaching Hospital with its well-established departments of Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, dermatology, neurosurgery, Gastroenterology is providing quality health services of international standards to the community including state of the art diagnostic and imaging facilities.
While addressing the audience, Chief Guest Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt NI (M) expressed his satisfaction with the standard and quality of Medical education being imparted at Fazaia Medical College and PAF Teaching Hospitals Islamabad. He also advised the medical graduates to upgrade their knowledge to meet the challenges that the health care system is facing with current changing scenarios.
The Vice Chancellor Air University, Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan, HI (M) during his address highlighted the importance of the latest digital tools and technologies for learning medical procedures and skills. He congratulated the medical graduates and their parents for this memorable day.
Principal Fazaia Medical College, Maj Gen Professor Muhammad Tahir Khadim HI (M) (Retd) presented the FMC annual report in the ceremony. He highlighted the advancements in FMC to provide quality medical education in the basic and clinical sciences disciplines. He acknowledged the efforts of faculty and students in presenting research work and achieving various awards at national and international institutes. He also appreciated the support provided to the college by the Air University and Pakistan Air Force. He valued the vital role of the parents in supporting their children to complete challenging medical studies.
Parents of the graduating students, thanked the Vice Chancellor Air University, Principal, faculty, and staff of FMC for their efforts, and dedication in mentoring their children to become successful medical practitioners. In the end, a group photo of the graduating batch was taken with the chief guest, the Vice Chancellor Air University, and other dignitaries.
