ISLAMABAD: In order to address global difficulties, Jalil Abbas Jilani, the foreign minister, recommended tight cooperation and diversified international alliances on Friday.
At the invitation of Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, he was giving a speech at the 3rd Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Belgium.
The Roundtable on “Shared Prosperity, Economic Resilience, and Investments” was also attended by the foreign minister. He described the course that international partnerships will take in his remarks.
In order to get away from ideas of great power contestation and polarizing bloc politics, he emphasized the necessity for shared responsibility.
He suggested a three-tiered strategy that included South-South triangular cooperation, mechanisms for addressing climate change, and the creation of global digital cooperation centers.
In the meantime, Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib and Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani met on Friday and talked about commerce, education, and people-to-people ties.
At present, Foreign Minister Jilani is in Brussels for the third EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, an official visit.
The two foreign ministers discussed the bilateral relations between Belgium and Pakistan during the meeting and expressed gratitude for their steady improvement.
Both parties acknowledged that in order to improve bilateral relations, ongoing participation and cooperation are essential.
