New York: Donald Trump’s one-time fixer and star prosecution witness in the former president’s criminal case has revealed how the then-Republican candidate paid a porn actress to bury revelations about his beliefs.
Michael Cohen, who once prided himself as Trump’s attack dog, methodically presented evidence against his former boss and saw Trump when he sat in the dock for his impeachment trial.
New York State has accused Cohen of falsifying employment records to pay porn star Stormi Daniels $130,000 in a bid to end his campaign on sex allegations with Trump before the 2016 election.
“I spoke to Mr. Trump and I thank him for that,” said Cohen about the conversation he had with the jailed then-CFO Allen Weisselberg. mogul
“He told me, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll get your money back,'” Cohen told the court.
“I’m doing everything I can to protect my title, and I’ve been doing it for a long time.”
Cohen is essential to the prosecution, but the defense will believe that he has been portrayed as a pathological liar.
He served 13 months in prison and another year and a half under house arrest after pleading guilty to lying to Congress and committing financial crimes in 2018.
