Paris: French film legend Alain Delon has died aged 88, his three children told AFP in a statement on Sunday after a battle with ill health. “Alain Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony and also (his dog) Loubo are deeply saddened to announce that their father has passed away. He died peacefully at his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and family,” the statement read. he said, noting that the family has asked for privacy. The actor, known for his roles in the classics “Purple Noon” (1960) and “Le Samurai” (1967), died “very early in the middle of the night,” according to a statement. Delon, a screen rarity since the 1990s, made headlines in 2023 when his three children filed a complaint against his live-in assistant, Hiromi Rollin, accusing him of harassment and threats. His three children waged a public battle in the media and in the courts, arguing over the star’s health, which included a stroke in 2019. He made his last major public appearance on the red carpet in May 2019, where he won the honorary Palme d’Nebo at the Cannes Film Festival.
