Islamabad: The export of fruits increased by 17.85 percent in the first ten months of the last financial year as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), fruit exports during July-April (2022-23) and July-April (2023-24) were $274.227 million.
Exports of fruit products increased by 29.32 percent in April 2024. Fruit exports during the month were $8.161 million compared to $6.311 million in April 2023.
According to PBS data, exports decreased by 58.51 percent in April 2024 compared to exports of $19.629 million in April 2024.
It is worth mentioning here that the country’s total exports of goods have increased by 9.10 percent in the first ten months of this financial year (2023-24) as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports during July-April (2023-24) stood at $25.280 billion against exports of $23.171 billion according to the latest PBS data.
On the other hand, the country’s import decreased by 4.09 percent to $44.794 billion compared to last year’s import of $46.706 billion.
Based on the numbers, the trade deficit in the first 10 months of this fiscal year was recorded at $19.514 billion against the deficit of $23.535 billion last year, showing a decrease of 17.09 percent.
