Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Monday warned that those who filed false cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan should be ready to face responsibility.
Addressing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on the acquittal of PTI founder chief in the Cipher case, he urged those responsible for false allegations to be ready to face responsibility.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for justice and transparency and called for the Commission’s report to be made public. “The man who received the opening name is called a traitor. People are not stupid anymore,” he said, urging the government to eliminate past mistakes and avoid new mistakes.
Highlighting the sacrifices of the tribes, the KP CM demanded recognition of their resources and rights. He said that any request from the merged districts would not be heeded and warned that failure to comply would result in serious action.
“The tribes have sacrificed for this country, but their wealth has not been given. They have played their part in all these difficult times and now they must be given,” he said.
Gandapur has announced several important initiatives aimed at improving the state’s infrastructure and welfare. Health insurance coverage will increase to $36 billion and healthcare facilities will increase from 1 million to 2 million.
He also emphasized that development is not just a ceremonial symbol, but can be negotiated with local representatives, saying that more than 500 development projects will be completed this year.
The prime minister criticized the federal government for cutting the education budget and warned of strong resistance if development projects were halted. There will be a reaction and then it will become a reality,” he said.
He outlined a simple plan to support the province’s youth, spending $15 billion on soft loans and skills development. He also announced a solar initiative to combat energy shortages, offering free solar equipment to poor residents in affected areas and subsidized prices for others. Government offices and residences will also be modernized to reduce energy costs.
In an effort to ensure transparency and efficiency, Gandapur has announced that government agencies will reduce electricity rates by 20% during the austerity campaign. He also promised to strengthen the police and security forces, saying federal funds are needed to strengthen security measures.
He said he would fight corruption, stop bribery and enforce stricter anti-drug laws. He also promised to give five marlas of land to the families of the martyrs.
KP CM thanked everyone for the budget proposal and assured that the members’ suggestions will be implemented. He criticized the federal government for withholding provincial statutory funding and said he would fight for its payment.
“The net income of the electricity company reached 90 billion dollars. The federation did not give us our rights. We all have to raise our voices together for this,” he said.
