All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Chairman Altaf Ahmed Bhat today paid tributes to Kashmiri leader Muhammad Ashraf Sehra on his third martyrdom anniversary. In his speech, he acknowledged Sehra’s commitment and sacrifice for the freedom and dignity of the people of Kashmir.
The tragic death of Ashraf Sehrai in Indian police custody in Jammu on May 5, 2021 is a reminder of the ongoing struggle and cost of Kashmir’s struggle for self-determination.
APHC senior leader and JKSM chairman Altaf Ahmed Bhat strongly condemned the circumstances of Sehrai’s death and called for justice and accountability for those responsible for this injustice.
APHC senior leader and JKSM chairman Altaf Ahmed Bhat said it was important to continue Sehrai’s tenure and honor his legacy. It is our duty to ensure that his dream of a free and fair Kashmir becomes a reality. The struggle for justice and freedom will continue until the people of Kashmir get their rightful freedom,” he said.
It also called for a credible inquiry into the death of custodian Ashraf Sehrai, seeking transparency and accountability by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Movement. The ongoing fight for justice will not stop until the truth is revealed and the wrong brought to justice.
APHC Senior Leader and JKSM Chief Altaf Ahmed Bhat acknowledged the grief of Junaid Sehrai, son of Ashraf Sehrai, who sacrificed his life against Indian occupation in May 2020. This will be etched forever in the golden pages of Kashmir’s history. Their indifference inspires to continue the struggle with more determination. “
“Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement and its leadership stand in solidarity with all the people who are suffering in the cause of freedom,” he said.
He also urged the international community to recognize the injustice done in the UN, P5 Jammu and Kashmir and support the right of Kashmiri people to self-determination.
