GUJRAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Sunday criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and accused it of blatantly holding general elections in 21 national and provincial areas.
Speaking to reporters outside the Hattala polling station in Gujrat’s PP-32 constituency, Gohar called the parliamentary elections bogus and argued that the parliament should be made up of real representatives with the support of the people and not election fraud.
Gohar said that PTI will not recognize the result of the election in DPP PP-32.
When asked about the death of a PML-N politician in Narowal, Gohar expressed grief and said it was important to respect different opinions among politicians from opposing parties.
Answering a question about PTI founder, Gohar said efforts to isolate him from society will not work. He hopes that the founder will be released soon.
Gohar also said that the PTI founder had been jailed thrice in five days and the judge was even forced to postpone his son’s valima ceremony.
