ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said that the government is determined to provide top-notch free medical facilities to deserving patients across the country.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Jinnah Medical Complex here, the Prime Minister said that the complex would be one of the best medical centers in the region where deserving people would get 100% free medical care.
“It is a gift of the coalition government not only to the people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but also to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said.
He said that once the medical complex is completed, it will offer the world’s best medical facilities with various sections of diseases related to heart, kidney, lung, cancer and others. He further stated that the hospital will also have a modern first aid department with air ambulance facilities for patients in difficult areas.
He said that nursing schools and laboratories will also be set up in the hospital and deserving patients will enjoy 100% laboratory testing facilities.
The Prime Minister emphasized that this is the same model envisioned by PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to provide free health facilities only to the poor and on payment to the well-to-do people in the same place.
He specifically thanked HBL Chairman Sultan Ali Allan and Prince Rahim Agha Khan for providing technical advisory support for the project free of charge. He paid tribute to the Agha Khan Foundation’s decades of service to the country.
He directed the authorities concerned to complete the project within one year. “Although one year is a tough deadline for a huge project, it was quite possible with determination and hard work. He also issued instructions to continue the project continuously to meet the deadline. He assured that there would be no funds.” problems from the government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expresses his gratitude to Islamabad Chief Commissioner Ali Randhawa for providing the land for the project.
He also thanked the Finance Minister, Finance Minister and Planning Minister for their support to the project.
Regarding compensation to the affected people, the Prime Minister directed to provide a single window to the affected people for immediate resolution of their problems.
Health coordinator Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, MNA Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Hanif Abbasi and Raja Khurrum Nawaz. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar was also present on the occasion.
