Islamabad:- Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Henrik Persson called on the Minister of IT and Telecommunications Mrs. Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
The interest and development of cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications between the two countries was discussed.
Minister of IT State Secretary Shaza Fatima told the Swedish ambassador that the government is now paying full attention to the IT and telecommunications sector, because the development of this sector is a priority. Noting that Pakistan’s IT exports are increasing, he said Pakistan wants to increase its IT exports to Sweden and business relations between the two countries. We are also looking to buy Pakistani brands in the Swedish ICT market. He said Swedish and Pakistani technology companies can jointly set up roads.
Princess Fatimah said that cooperation in the BPO sector will strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Pakistan and Sweden can benefit from each other’s expertise in the technology sector, he said.
The country’s IT minister has invited Swedish technology companies to invest in Pakistan and said that there are favorable conditions for foreign investment in Pakistan.
He said that according to the view of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the private sector is supported and facilitated. Public-private partnership can put the country on the path of development, he said.
Swedish Ambassador said Pakistan’s IT sector has huge potential. Sweden wants to develop cooperation with Pakistan in the IT and telecommunication sectors, he said.
International Coordination Director Syed Jawwad Ali Sherazi also attended the meeting.
