LAHORE: Federal Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar said on Saturday that the current government is doing everything to boost the economy and the national economy and the sector is showing positive signs in both.
Addressing a press conference at the PML-N Secretariat here, Bloomberg made it clear that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has a good track record in talking to financial institutions and carrying out economic reforms.
“The stability of the rupee has helped stabilize the country’s economy and there has been positive news about the exchange,” he said.
He said all these positive indicators show that business confidence has improved in the country. He said, unfortunately, anti-state elements that cannot absorb the development of the country, are included in the negative agenda.
Pakistan’s Human Resource Development and Overseas Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain said a special plane carrying the bodies of five Chinese workers killed in the terror attack left for Wuhan, China, and expressed condolences to the Chinese government and officials.
He said that the PML-N government always attaches great importance to Pak-China friendship.
He said: “After this incident, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif went to the Chinese Embassy and met the Chinese Ambassador. The Prime Minister visited Dasu to improve the morale of Chinese engineers and attach great importance to Pakistan’s friendship with China.”
Attaullah Tarar revealed that the Prime Minister has held many meetings on Chinese security and a committee has been formed to investigate Dasu’s case as a Chinese.
He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered RPO Hazara Division, DPO Upper Kohistan District, DPO Lower Kohistan District, Dasu Hydroelectric Project Security Director and KP Special Security Branch Commander to take action within fifteen days.
The information minister said the swift action was proof that no compromise would be made on the security of the Chinese people in the future. He also said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring the security issues related to Chinese and Chinese projects and an effective system is being developed in this regard.
“We pay tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism,” he said.
He said that Pak armed forces and law enforcement agencies of the country are determined to eliminate terrorism and will not allow anyone to endanger the peace of the country.
Regarding the Guardian’s report on extrajudicial executions in India in several countries,
Attaullah Tarar said today that the Ministry of External Affairs has also issued a statement condemning the statement of the Indian defense minister.
He said the international community should also pay attention to extrajudicial killings.
“Pakistan is alert and capable of defending itself, but we want peace in the region,” he said.
He said that he visited Karachi yesterday and met journalists’ organizations like PBA, APNS, CPNE and discussed the issues arising in the media sector. He highlighted the problem of journalists and media workers and said that the expected payments for media workers and journalists will be paid before Eid.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that all efforts will be made to ensure the payment of pending payments in the next two days, adding that all approvals in this regard have been completed.
He said, “Today, we will visit Saudi Arabia with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The delegation to Saudi Arabia consists of cabinet members and members of the prime minister’s family. The delegation will go to Saudi Arabia. Commercial flights and all members of the delegation will be borne by them. and there will be no burden for the government cat.”
Besides, the delegation included Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Economy Minister Ahad Khan Cheman.
He expressed hope that there is positive news from this visit and said that apart from performing Umrah, special meetings are also expected.
As the information minister, he said he would report the incident in the Pakistani media.
