ISLAMABAD – The federal government has announced the cancellation of electricity tariff hike for consumers who consume up to 200 units per month, sources said on Tuesday.
They added that the prime minister had received approval from the cabinet. From July to September 2024, consumers will be given relief of up to 200 units per month.

It may be recalled that on July 4, the federal cabinet had approved an increase in the basic electricity tariff up to Rs 7.12 per unit, including protected and non-protected consumers who consume up to 200 units of power.

The cabinet approved a hike in tariff by Rs 3.95 for protected consumers up to 100 units, while for protected customers who consume between 101 and 200 units, there was an increase of Rs 4.10 per unit.
