Islamabad: In an important step to promote economic ties, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan H.E. Park Kijun invited Pakistan’s Federal Trade Minister Jam Kamal Khan to discuss and discuss strategies to promote bilateral trade and investment.
Minister Khan said that the Prime Minister’s priority for the past three months has been to improve business connectivity and simplify business processes in Pakistan.
He reminded him of the government’s proactive measures to stabilize the economy, which he believes has made Pakistan a more attractive destination for foreign investment.
Ambassador Park Kijun said he wants to work closely with Pakistan to increase trade volume and explore new business opportunities.
Minister Khan assured the ambassador that the government is ready to resolve any issue expeditiously to ensure smooth and efficient foreign business in Pakistan.
In addition, Minister Han invited Korean investors to take advantage of the upcoming privatization opportunities in various government departments.
The move is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to increase private sector participation in the economy to improve efficiency and services.
Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan extended an open invitation to Korean companies to explore and invest in Pakistan’s trade and strategic projects.
The main sectors for potential investment are energy, ports and shipping, fisheries and agriculture, which are considered important for Pakistan’s economic development and offer significant opportunities for international investors.
In the meeting, the Minister of Trade also informed the ambassador about successfully holding the Saudi Arabia-Pakistan Investment Forum in 2024 with the participation of Saudi Arabia’s main investors.
He told the minister that he can organize a similar game event for large Korean conglomerates and investors who want to invest in Pakistan.
Kamal Khan’s hour concluded by reiterating the government’s commitment to making doing business in Pakistan more accessible and secure.
He said that Pakistan is now entering a phase of prosperity and development.
He said last month that it brings new opportunities and a better work environment.
