LOWER DIR: The Gujjar Qaumi Movement (GQM) Chief Haji Zarin Khan Gujjar has asked all the political parties to voluntarily donate Rs 1 billion to national exchequer owing to the deteriorating economic situation in the country. Speaking at a news conference at Chakdara after returning from a two-day trip to Azad Jammu and Kashmir here on Friday, Haji Zarin demanded the national accountability bureau to take into accounts all the previous lawmakers irrespective of their political status. The GQM general secretary Muhammad Nazir Gujjar and other activists were also present on the occasion.
Haji Zarin said that they visited the Azad Kashmir area on the invitation of the Azad Gujjar Forum Dadyal chapter where they met with leaders of the Gujjar clan. He thanked the Forum’s president Jehangir Khan and his cabinet members Javed Khan, Juma Gul, Ali Muhammad and Gul Zaman.
The GQM chief said the election commission of Pakistan should declare the plunders ineligible for contesting the next general elections in the country. He said the caretaker government with the support of the Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir had launched several operations for strengthening the economy, curbing power theft, tax evasion, currency smuggling and illegal hoarding in the country. He said that his party was fully supporting the government and the establishment in this regard. He said the government should make no compromise on expelling people having no legal travel documents. He asked the government to take strict actions against the elements involved in currency smuggling. The GQM declared May 9 and 10 as a tragic incident and said that his party would never support such acts and vandalism in Pakistan. He demanded the establishment to try such elements in the military courts and made them an example for others.
Jamaat-i-Islami deputy general secretary and former MNA Bakhtiar Maani has said the Zionists are afraid of political Islam and want to bind it only to mosques and preaching centers. He was addressing a three-day training workshop arranged by the Islami Jamiat Tulba at the main campus of University of Malakand as chief guest here the other day. The IJT provincial chief Wasim Haidar and UoM nazim Hanifullah also spoke on the occasion. The JI leader said that Al-Quds was not the issue of Palestinians but it related to the whole Muslim ummah. Condemning the Israeli air strikes on Ghaza Stripe, he said the world knew about the barbarism and massacre but had kept silent. He said the UNO had resolved the East Taimur issue but had been delaying the solution of the Palestine issue for decades. He said the world powers were not interested in resolving the Kashmir and Palestine issues. About the situation in Pakistan the JI leader said that the imposition of Islamic economic and interest-free banking system was the only solution to all problems. He said the establishment of Taliban government in Afghanistan had encouraged the Muslims and had enkindled the spirit of ‘jihad’ in them.
