MANCHESTER: Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken about the future of midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who has been in the news recently due to rumors linking him with Saudi Arabia.
De Bruyne, 33, joined the Manchester club in 2015 and has quickly become one of the best players in the world. He won six Premier League titles with the Cityzens and won the UEFA Champions League in 2022, beating Inter Milan in the final.
After winning everything with the Cityzens, De Bruyne could be looking for a way out of the club, but Pep has confirmed that the Belgian is not leaving the club.
“Obviously, until the last day we have chances [to make transfers], I don’t rule out the possibility of having new players, but I think there is an 85/90 percent chance that we will have the same squad.
But we will see, at the last minute I don’t know if someone comes for some players and they leave, we will decide.”
Earlier in the interview, De Bruyne said he was now looking to earn an “unbelievable amount of money” playing in the Middle East.
“You’re talking incredible money for what could be the end of my career.
I might not even reach that amount yet.
“Then you have to think about what it might mean next. But I haven’t had to think about that at this point.”
