KURRAM AGENCY: Deadly clashes that triggered a “land dispute” between two tribes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district have ended after six days of deadly war.
Deputy Commissioner Kurram said security force personnel were deployed after the queues from the parties were cleared.
There has been no firing at 5 locations in Karam district since last night while more peace efforts are being made.
According to the police, the Parachinar highway in Peshawar has been closed to all traffic for the seventh day due to which farmers, travelers and traders are facing difficulties.
Heavy police and security deployment has been ensured in the troubled area, while normal life has come to a standstill due to the tense situation.
Police officials said that 49 people have been killed and 200 injured so far in the 6 days of clashes.
According to media reports, 210 people were injured in the violent clashes. Hospital district director Dr Mir Hassan Jan said the killing of another 14 people on Monday took the death toll to 49.
