Star striker Erling Haaland set another record as Manchester City edged closer to the Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday.
Haaland has reportedly scored 63 goals in 65 Premier League games, the most by any player in his first two seasons in the competition. Haaland is eight ahead of Andrew Cole, who has 55 goals.
Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne has assisted 10+ goals in six Premier League seasons; Along with Cesc Fabregas, the player with the most in the history of the competition.
The win secured a two-point lead over Arsenal at the end of the season. City face West Ham in the final game of the season at the Etihad on Sunday and a home win would help them secure their fourth consecutive league title of the season.
City manager Pep Guardiola said after the game: “They are very happy in the locker room, but they know it’s not over yet.”
“I didn’t see much celebration. They knew very well that it was going to be difficult.
“People should come to the Etihad at 3pm on Sunday knowing that it will be difficult. They should come with their families and bring energy, win every inch and yard and deserve to win the game.
“Starting to think about West Ham tomorrow. Of course, it’s good to give us a chance to defend against rivals like Arsenal.
“We won 2-0 in the 70th minute against Aston Villa in such a short time.
“Now Mihail Antonio and James Ward-Prowse, set and channel, think and pay attention.
“We need to win one more game to keep the title.
“There is something about the training, the mentality, the lifestyle, the mindset of the players.”
