NEW DELHI: Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson are among the distinguished guests expected to attend the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani.
The event, reported by Bloomberg, is expected to attract around 1,200 guests on July 12.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding will also be attended by Asia’s second richest tycoon, Gautam Adani.
The invitations for guests were unique, coming in the form of miniature temples.
The celebration is highlighted by an array of culinary delights prepared by Nita Ambani, including Indian street specialties such as aloo tikki, tomato chaat, palak chaat, chana kachori and kulfi from Varanasi chefs.
The events underscore the immense wealth of Asian tycoons and the continued transfer of wealth to their heirs.
Mukesh Ambani, with a net worth of about $120 billion, is ranked 11th in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The wedding festivities have already started with the traditional ceremonies.
The ‘Sangeet’ (musical ceremony) featured a performance by pop star Justin Bieber, reportedly paying $10 million for the event.
Bollywood celebrities and close family attended the ‘Haldi’ ceremony on Monday.
Designer Manish Malhotra shared pictures of Nita Ambani’s traditional attire while Isha Ambani also donned a traditional outfit.
Previous celebrations have included a three-day event in March with Rihanna and a luxury cruise in May with performances by Katy Perry and Andrea Bocelli.
The Ambani family also organized a mass wedding for 50 underprivileged couples last week.
Previous events include Beyonce performing at Isha Ambani’s 2018 wedding and Coldplay’s Chris Martin at Akash and Shloka’s pre-wedding affair.
