During every election campaign hollow slogans are used by the political parties those are impossible to fulfill later in addition the promises under those slogans often being broken by the political leadership. The dream of giving free power supply is being shown in political rallies these days, on which political leaders in some cities have hooted.
Our political history has proven that all the promises from “Roti Kapra Or Makan” and three hundred units of free electricity to solving all problems within six months and fixing the entire system in hundred days have proved to be mere slogans.
The main reason for which is that no party has included the basic issues including inflation in its manifesto and in every era political parties have done politics on the basis of slogans instead of manifestos. Therefore, whenever the People’s Party, Muslim League or Tehreek-e-Insaaf and its allied parties come to power, then they do not have any program due to which the country is suffering from economic and social depression raising day by day.
On the other hand the inflation is being raise in a systematic way by the global colonial forces as well as the local merchants and the administration and through that the people are being kept in a slave cycle. It should be remembered that inflation in the country is caused by the collusion of the middlemen and the administration against which the governments often fail to take action because the hands of these capitalists are very long and they often help the political parties during the general elections.
They also give donations indirectly or are part of these political parties. One of the main reasons for the corruption and NAB cases to come to light across the country is that there are such elements in most of the parties. This is the reason why no one can do politics in the country except the capitalists, due to which fertile minds are not coming into politics, which is the biggest obstacle in solving the long-standing problems of the country.
If the campaign for the general elections of 2024 is also carefully examined, it is known that no party has any program unlike the World Bank, IMF and Asian Bank, which is raising slogans as before. Meanwhile on behalf of these parties, the Election Commission of Pakistan and institutions are not getting a level playing field and a political party is being rewarded. Even if this allegation is accepted as true, the question arises from these political parties if they are provided with a level playing field of their choice, are they ready for it? So the answer is negative.
The sad fact is that the political parties who blame everything on the institutions have no program. Readers know very well that all the political parties have got opportunities but they have failed to implement their programs due to which the problems of the people have increased.
Although the state institutions cannot be absolved for the dire state of the country, they have also contributed to push the country back in the race of development but the political parties are the biggest bearers of democratic values in the country.
They have often come to power through backdoors and this process is still going on. Therefore, until the democratic values are not included in the organization by the political parties and such economic cells and think tanks are not created that continuously monitor the country’s economy besides international affairs or policies, the country’s problems will continue until that time, they will remain as they are.
In these circumstances when the general elections are around the corner not much can be expected from these parties but it is possible that the political parties keep peace during the rest of the election process. So it can be certain that any political government takes over the country that can start the journey to take the country towards development and then the planning process can be started.
