The iconic Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes, which captivated cricket enthusiasts between 1992 and 2017, makes a triumphant return this November.
Hong Kong’s cricket legacy dates back to 1842 when the first official game was recorded. Despite its relatively small size, the city consistently punches above its weight on the global stage, with both the men’s and women’s teams currently ranked in the top 20 of the 108-member International Cricket Council (ICC).
After a seven-year hiatus, Hong Kong Sixers will be revived as cricket’s fastest format. Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK), a member of the International Cricket Council, organizes the tournament, which is also sanctioned by the ICC.
The event, which is scheduled for November 1-3, 2024, will be held at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground. It will feature 12 nations competing over three exciting days.
The strategic plan is to develop the Hong Kong Sixes into a global series culminating in a grand final at home every year,” said Burji Shroff, Chairman, Cricket Hong Kong, China.
The Hong Kong Sixes has a rich heritage dating back to 1992 and has featured some of the most famous names in cricket. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne.
