Federal Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb has recently said that presence of dollar in the country is essential. If there is no dollar in the country, growth will end. Finance minister has come up with a formula that can be implemented to determine Pakistan’s development in months instead of years.
According to economists if these dollars come in the form of loans, it may be a temporary measure to pass the time but not a permanent solution. It should be remembered that till now all the Finance Ministers have given temporary policies, the losses of which have been borne by the governments. Except for Dr. Mehboob ul Haq, who worked a lot in the seventies and eighties in various key positions of the country and was also the finance minister for one year.
Since then we have No such hero could be found who is as good as he is in speech. It is a strange coincidence that the period in which Dr. Mehboob ul haq worked for the country was the period of the military dictators General Ayub and General Zia, the plans of these periods were succeeded. Perhaps the reason for this was that during that period, the ministers were not tampered with much and they were allowed to work in order to avoid the criticism of the people in the dictatorship.
The second important thing is that during the time of Dr. Sahib, the Afghan war was also going on and dollars were being showered on Pakistan like water, but no account of these dollars could be known yet. At that time the population of Pakistan was very small and despite the poverty, money was so heavy that it was used to survive.
Besides at that time agriculture was nurturing the country but after that the results of what was done to the country by politicians and dictators are in front of us.
It should be remembered that in the sixties, the five year plans of Pakistan were copied in many Asian countries which were mainly brought by Ayub Khan from USA. It is a fact that those plans were practically developed and worked on by Pakistan.
As a result no such big problem could arise in the country till the eighties. Therefore it is necessary that the appointed minister must say that the dollar will come but what will be done for it is an important question.
One solution is that He has told that export should be increased. Even a common man says that this should be done but who will do it? Let us examine his statement. Speaking on the occasion of his visit to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the Federal Finance Minister said that the government wants to sign a new agreement with the IMF by the end of the current financial year. They have also expressed their willingness to negotiate, but the question is what will happen after the new agreement?
Muhammad Aurangzeb called the increase in exports as the solution to the problem and said that this problem can be solved by increasing exports. It is the government’s responsibility to provide an environment to increase exports and there is no on-off switch to provide an environment, but this can only be done with the right decisions made in consultation. It has been added that government will have to do these steps.
In other words, they want to say that we will give the policy but you have to show honesty and that is the best way. So now the government should form a team of Ahsan Iqbal, Ishaq Dar, Abdul Faiz Shaikh and all the economists in the country instead of cry for more loans and form a program on how to run the country without debt. There is no cure for improving the economy. Pakistan doesn’t need to go anywhere else, it has its own plans, pick them up, cut copy paste and all the stakeholders get to work.
