ISLAMABAD: Authorities in India’s unlawfully controlled Jammu and Kashmir have issued an avalanche warning for the next 24 hours in the higher elevations of eight districts.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) issued a warning that a “medium danger” level avalanche is likely to occur at 2400 metres above sea level in the higher reaches of Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, and Kupwara districts of Kashmir valley within the next 24 hours.
Similar warnings would be issued in Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Ramban districts of Jammu division within the next 24 hours.
People residing in these locations have been warned to take care and avoid going into avalanche-prone areas until further orders.
