Islamabad: The Department of Teacher Education in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) International Islamic University (IIUI) Islamabad held a panel discussion to celebrate Labor Day, where participants and participants discussed important topics related to rights. child education and child labor must be urgently addressed.
Dr. Shamsa Aziz, Head of the Department of Teacher Education, gave a brief overview of the main ideas in holding a panel discussion. Among those who attended the meeting were Federal Directorate of Education, Dr. Tabassum Naz School, Islamabad, Nazneen Zehra Deputy Director General of School Community Education, Islamabad, Ms. Shumaila Aslam, SMK Ghori, Ms. Tabassum Shayrwani Khan PhD Educational Scientist, IIUI. and Mrs. Sana Nasser BECS School. The panel was moderated by Dr. Fouzia Ajmal.
Under the theme of “Strengthening the Future: Right to Education and Child Labour”, this discussion includes various topics, each focusing on a different dimension of the problem.
The Council unanimously agreed on the importance of education as a fundamental right for every child. They noted that access to education not only empowers people but also plays an important role in creating a prosperous society.
Addressing the main socio-economic factors that contribute to child labor was another focus of the discussion, with speakers often emphasizing the need for a holistic approach that addresses poverty, inequality and the lack of opportunities that drive children to work.
Conference participants highlighted the key role of teachers in eradicating child labor and promoting education. They emphasize the role of teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages children to stay in school and achieve their dreams.
Key findings of the report include community participation as an important factor in combating child labor.
According to the committee, the panel discussion served as a platform for stakeholders from academia, government and civil society to exchange ideas, share best practices and formulate action plans to ensure every child’s right to education.
Guest Chairman, Dean of the Faculty of Education IIUI Prof. dr. Muhammad Sarwar praised the effort (and reiterated our university’s commitment) to promote education as a tool for social change by Dr. Fouzia Ajmal, the department of teacher education, the focal person and the student committee.
The event ended with a sense of resilience and determination to tackle the complex issues of child labor and educational inequality.
Participants expressed their commitment to work together to build a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and develop.
The event was held at IIUI Block Fatima Tuz Zahra (Zenan Campus) which was attended by students and teachers of the department.
