Zimbabwean veteran Sikandar Raza has said he is fully committed to Zimbabwean cricket when asked if he will ever represent Pakistan, the country of his birth, again.
Raza, 38, made his debut for Zimbabwe in a T20I match against Bangladesh on May 11, 2013 and over time has emerged as one of the best all-rounders in cricket.
The 38-year-old has played 250 international matches for Zimbabwe so far and plans to play for them in the future.
A fan asked Raza if he would ever represent Pakistan again as the Green Shirts have struggled with the middle order for a long time and his inclusion may ease their worries.
Reiterating his commitment to Zimbabwe, Raza said that although he was born in Pakistan, he is a product of Zimbabwean cricket.
“I am Pakistani by birth and a product of Zimbabwe cricket. I will only and always represent Zimbabwe. They spent time and money on me and I’m just trying to repay their faith and whatever I achieve will never come close to repaying it. Zim is mine and I am fully theirs,” Sikandar Raza replied to a fan on X, formerly Twitter.
Zimbabwe will face Pakistan in a white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and as many T20Is in November 2024 and Raza is likely to feature.
