In-form all-rounder Imad Wasim is eager to play for another five years or so after leading his team Islamabad United to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 title in Karachi on Monday.
Islamabad won their third PSL title by defeating Multan Sultans by two wickets in the final, after winning in 2016 and 2018 to become the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
“I didn’t feel like it was going to be my best tournament but I wanted to impress but I’m glad it went so well for me,” Imad said after the match.
“I’ve done it batting on a few occasions but to pick a fifer in the final and stay in the game during a crucial game was a new experience but I learned from it that we should have finished the game before he took it down the wire, glad to that Hunain completed it.
“I think I enjoy playing cricket, I’m fit and I try to contribute as much as possible. I have four to five years of cricket left in me.”
The thriller was decided on the last ball when Hunain Shah came into bat with one run required off the last ball. The youngster smartly identified the gap in point and hit the ball for four.
