A global challenge, Climate change, Despite, it has far reaching consequences and impact on human life. It is affecting and impacting South Asian politics as well . South Asia consist of large population of the world . This huge landscape is linked with various climate issues . Along with that, it also influencing the Political dynamics of South Asia.
As the temperature rises due to erratic monsoons, it leads to Resources and environmental degradation which directly affects the agricultural, water and food sector. This food and water availability security exert a significant pressure on National Governments to raise the needs of people. It results into the societal unrest and destruction due to Political instability.
As needs are not fulfilled it will completely induced a large migration. Due to rise in sea level, it not only affecting the rural areas but also causes a significant strain on urban infrastructure. It becomes difficult to cope up this unrest and social tension.
As Geopolitical dynamics of South Asia is extreme complex and tense , causes tension in the continent. Countries such as Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and other countries in the sub continent shared resources together. As time goes, resources such as Himalayas, rivers are intensifies scared due to change in climate. Diplomatic Relations are also strained and leads to conflicts due to ecological disasters.
Although there are many differences between countries, but it can be resolved through cooperation and negotiation. Diplomacy is the only solution to mitigate this problem. As green house gas emissions are increasing , countries should collaborate to reduced such gases . Such problems cannot be eliminated and overcome without achieving a collective response. Political rivalries is the major obstacle in the way.

Bangladesh ‘s Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan(BCCSAP) has been appreciated on International forum as it not only reduced the vulnerabilities but also promote sustainable and resilient environment.
Bhutan’s Carbon Neutral Developments program of Bhutan has set to preserve and protect the forests from environmental degradation. Maldives Renewable energy transition was brought forward when the sea level of the Maldives rises due to Global warming . The country has invested a huge amount for achieving the goal.
South Asian Governments should shared technology to foster cooperation. Installment of warning system for the natural disasters detection can saved countries from huge destruction. Promotion of energy efficient buildings, green infrastructure and efficient waste management system also improve sustainability.
As there are many developing countries in South Asia, in order to get relief from financial strain, most of the countries rely on external dependencies to fulfill the implementation of policies in the country. Such policies and initiatives also address socio economic disparities such as marginalization in the society.
Policy governance along with International Cooperation facilitate the climate resilience among South Asian nations.
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) promote such cooperation and initiatives through building alliances among National Governments.
Regulatory frameworks, Partnerships and collaboration among National Governments will promote mobilization and innovation.
Along with such short term planning , long term policies addressing climate change will transform the future more climate resilient and paved the way for nation’s sustainability.
