Interior and Narcotics Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called for a review of laws governing social media in view of the prevalent X violations.
Speaking to the media in Lahore today alongside PPP leader Ali Haider Gilani, the security czar gave an example of how the US House passed the bill to ban TikTok.
“In a country like the US, where such things (the ban) are happening, we will also have to review our laws and make sure there is ‘no ban’ on freedom of expression,” Naqvi added.
The Home Secretary stressed that the abuse of social media, which leads to the settlement of baseless allegations, “needs to be kept under control”.
