ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister of Communications Shahid Ashraf Tarar on Tuesday visited the control room constructed in the Ministry of Interior for monitoring of security measures and law and order situation during the general election 2024.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the interim Prime Minister, nominated Shahid Ashraf Tarar as Chairman of the Committee for Security and Administrative Affairs of the 2024 General Elections.
The coordinator of the National Action Plan addressed the minister in detail about the operation of the control room on behalf of Secretary of Interior Aftab Akbar Durrani, who was also present at the meeting.
The minister praised the work of interior ministry officers while expressing pleasure with the control room’s operation and stated that the country’s security and law and order situation would be monitored through the control room during the elections.
According to the constitution, the Election Commission of Pakistan is responsible for conducting transparent elections in the country, and the caretaker government would provide all support to the Election Commission in this regard.
Shahid Ashraf Tarar assured that all necessary measures would be taken to maintain the country’s security and law and order situation during the 2024 general elections, and the installation of a control room is also a link.
