Bringing back the Ishq-Wishk franchise with a Gen Z romantic twist, the romantic drama sequel starring Pashmina Roshan, Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan and Naila Grewal hits theaters this month. Titled Ishq Wishk Rebound, fans of the 2024 romantic drama can expect some interesting references to its predecessors, including Shahid Kapoor’s original Ishq Wishk boy.
Recently, the entire cast and crew attended the shooting of Ishq Vishk Rebound in Mumbai, where the film’s director, Haider, gave a big hint about the actor’s role in the film. “You will know on June 21,” he said when asked if he will be seen in Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming teenage romantic drama Nipun Dharmadhikari.
What is the Ishq Wishk franchise?
Released in 2003, Ishq Wishk starred Shahid Kapoor along with Amrita Rao and Shehnaz Treasurywala. The film stars college students as they navigate romance, friendship and relationships as they discover the true meaning of love.
Now, 21 years later, Ishq Vishk Rebound will mark the debut of cousin Hrithik Roshan, Pashmina Roshan and star actor Rohit Saraf in lead roles. Jibraan Khan, who essayed the small role of Kris Raichand in Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol starrer K3G is also back with this entertainer. Naila Grewal, who recently appeared in the Netflix series Maamla Legal Hai, will also be seen in the lead role.
