Islamabad: Dust/thunderstorm and isolated rains are expected over the upper parts of the country from May 28 to June 01 which will help prevent severe wave conditions due to hot weather.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is likely to affect the upper parts of the country on May 28 (afternoon/night).
Due to the effect of this weather system, dust storms/thunderstorms like Quetta, Obobob, Ziarat, Sherani and Barhan are expected in Balochistan from May 27 (night) to May 29.
Isolated rain/thunderstorm expected over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad,
, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan and Kurram from May 28 (evening/night) to June 1 with occasional breaks.
Rain-Wind / Thunderstorm expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Neelum Valley including Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ganche, Shigar, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli. , Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from 28 May (afternoon/night) to 01 June.
Dust storm / Thunderstorm expected in Punjab / Islamabad Islamabad / Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad. Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali from 28 May (evening/night) to 01 June with occasional gaps.
In Sindh, dust storm/strong wind is expected in Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Hyderabad on May 28 and 29.
PMD advised the farmers to manage their crops accordingly.

From May 28, the severe heat wave will subside when the tide is high.
Heatwave-like conditions are likely in the central and southern parts of the country.
The daytime temperature is likely to rise above 03-04 degrees Celsius in areas with heat waves.
The general public is advised to avoid unnecessary sun exposure.
All relevant authorities are advised to be alert and take necessary measures to avoid any untoward situation during the heat wave.
