Islamabad Traffic Police has decided to issue driver’s license to all citizens without discrimination on the basis of residential address and to give such permission to senior citizens.
Facilitation of Islamabad Traffic Police on Bicycles last week and at the inauguration of Traffic Police Bicycle Education in Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the police will facilitate the issuance of licenses to students studying in universities and colleges. IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and other police officers were also present on the occasion and the IGP informed the ministry about the cars.
The Minister said that providing all possible opportunities to the citizens of Islamabad is a priority.
“Today, we officially launched a service to visit the campus and make it easier for students in colleges and universities to issue and renew student licenses. “The purpose of the service is to save time.”
The minister said that the ITP will issue a license to every citizen and will not refuse a license for having a temporary or permanent address outside Islamabad. Naqvi said that he was aware of the traffic situation in Islamabad and said that some projects would be launched soon to solve the problem.
“Efforts have begun to make Islam free from drugs and attacks,” he said. He said that the Supreme Court decision on the attack will also be followed in Islamabad and no one will be allowed to occupy public places.
The minister said that the welfare of the police and the families of the police martyrs is also one of the priority areas. Talking about the new police chief, he said that the IGP is performing his duties effectively and the police are working round the clock.
He also said that parking will be provided in all shopping malls in Islamabad and action will be taken against shopping malls without parking.
According to the Minister of Interior, issuing permits for vehicle coloring will be prohibited and existing permits for this purpose will be revoked.
The minister also said that there are several reasons behind the delay in issuing passports and supports the establishment of a passport office to deal with such problems. The ministry will soon inform the federal ministry about the bill in this regard.
Commenting on reports of an alleged pact between the PTI chief and the forces, the home minister said there was no pact between Imran Khan and the organisation.
“It would be better to ask those who claim that there is such a deal and get the details,” he said, adding that names being removed from the exit watch list were a “common problem”.
