KHYBER: Volunteers of Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam Fazal Rehman(JUI-F)condemned torture of under-trial prisoner Khalid Khan by police in Peshawar jail and demanded of provincial government to conduct fair enquiry of the matter.
It is to be mentioned here Khalid Khan had shot and killed one, Tahir Naseem in a courtroom in Peshawar on July 29, 2020 who was on trial for blasphemy.
In a protest rally organized under the banner of JUI-F Landi Kotal chapter Tehsil Chairman Bara Mufti Kafeel,General Secretary JUI-F,Khyber Said Kabeer,Maulana Shamsuddin,Ameer Landi Kotal Qari Mujahid,President Anjuman-e-Tajeran Landi Kotal Bazaar Yad Wazir Shinwari,councillors,religious scholars and scores of locals participated in it.
Addressing on the occasion Mufti Kafeel,Qari Mujahid,Maulana Zaid and others categorically criticized the jail administration for the ill-treatment and torture incident towards what they said Ghazi, Khalid Khan who had performed a noble and religious duty by killing the apostate.
Instead of valuing his sacred sacrifice, the police subjected him to torture and inhuman sufferings in jail that was injustice to him, they opined.
They went on that every single Muslim of the country was ready to lay down his life for the upholding of the honor of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and such maltreatment would never restrain them of their holy responsibility.
Workers of the JUI-F will never tolerate any cruel treatment to Ghazi Khalid Khan and insisted for a probe in the matter and stern action against those found involved in it.
They demanded for the early release of Khalid Khan.
Protestors while carrying banners and placards inscribed with statements against torturing of Khalid Khan chanted slogans against it.
Besides hectic efforts, torture of the under -trial prisoner Khalid Khan could not be confirmed of the officials and independent sources.
