LOWER DIR: The Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl kicked off its election campaign in the Lower Dir district by holding a workers’ convention at Talash here on Monday. The JUI-F chief for all merged districts and former senator Maulana Abdur Rashid was chief guest on the occasion. The JUI-F workers from different union councils attended the event which was also addressed by the JUI-F provincial leader Qazi Ayazud Din, district chief Sirajud Din, Timergara tehsil chairman Mufti Irfanud Din, tehsil chief Mufti Bakht Sardar and others. Besides others, the JUI-F local leaders Muhammad Rahim Haqqani, village council chairman Maulana Nabi Shah, Maulana Muhammad Huzaifa and Ikram Khan were also in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion the former senator Abdur Rashid asked the party workers to speed up their door to door election campaign and create unity in their ranks. He said that thousands of ulema and religious scholars had full confidence in the leadership of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the JUI-F central chief. He said that the JUI-F chief struggled for more than three years to rid the people of Pakistan from Imran Khan’s government during which the economy, sovereignty and integrity was at stake. Mufti Abdul Rashid said that the general election should be held on time. He said the JUI-F was the second largest political party in the country. The former senator informed the workers about the current political situation in the country and the challenges facing the nation.
The JUI-F senator said that his party would win a majority of seats in the merged districts and would form its government in the province. He said the ulema should play their active role in uniting the Muslim Ummah. He said that it was not the time for disunity and every responsible citizen should play an active role in bringing unity, love and brotherhood among the Muslims.
