It has been decided to keep at least one passport office in Karachi and Lahore open 24/7 for citizens’ access and convenience to passport services, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday.
The concession will start on May 7 at Regional Passport Office Karachi, Awami Markaz Sharea Faisal and Regional Passport Office City Bagh Lahore.
The security king announced the availability of the passport service at any time on the social media site X, previously on Twitter. He said it would make it easier for people to access passport services at any time of the day.
“At least one passport office in Lahore and Karachi will be open 24 hours for the convenience and convenience of the people! This will make it easier for anyone to access passport services at any time,” he said.
It should be noted that the Minister of Home Affairs has recently sacked passport officials due to increasing complaints of bribery and corruption at the passport office.
Last month, passport authorities faced a shortage of laminated paper, a special paper with security features used in passports, causing delays in issuing travel documents.
According to passport officials, laminated paper is imported from Germany and thousands of people apply for passports every day.
