PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to prepare an action plan within a month to discuss financial matters with the federation.
The CM, who presided over a high-level meeting here, directed that all relevant documents should be prepared to effectively present the case of the province of financial affairs to the federal government.
He said the issue of payment of all dues and constitutional rights of the province will be taken up in all available forums including the courts.
Gandapur said that experts should be hired to effectively discuss financial matters with the federal government.
During the briefing, the Chief Minister was informed that as per the AGN Qazi formula, the federal government is to pay Rs 1,510 billion dyes under the net profit of the hydel.
Similarly, arrears of six billion rupees were settled under the price of electricity sold to the National Grid.
Regarding the merger of tribal districts into KP, the concerned officials said that the financial merger of tribal districts has not yet taken place. The merger was said to increase the population of KP, but no resources.
It was said that the share of the province under the NFC was 19.64 percent in relation to the current population of the province, while the province was receiving only 14.16 percent at that time.
The finance department informed that as per the current population of the province, it should get Rs 262 billion annually in the form of NFC award.
Similarly, the province has so far received only Rs 103 billion out of Rs 500 billion under the 10-year development plan of the merged districts.
Besides, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Ghandapur on Tuesday condemned the incident of police firing in Machni police station limits and expressed grief over the martyrdom of two policemen in the firing.
In a press statement issued here, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Ghandpur expressed condolences and heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. He prayed to Almighty Allah for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the bereaved. The Chief Minister asked the Inspector General of Police to report the incident.
The chief minister directed the affected estates to provide compensation to the families of the martyrs under the martyrdom package. The government, he said, would not leave the families of the martyrs alone, Ali Amin Gandapur said.
They will be given all possible support, said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, adding that the police made unprecedented sacrifices to protect people’s lives and property. The sacrifices of the police martyrs will not go in vain, the Chief Minister added.
Meanwhile, unknown persons fired at a police mobile in the Machini Gate area while they were on routine patrol. Two policemen were martyred in the firing while one ASI was injured in the firing last night. Immediately after the incident was reported, police and rescue teams started rescue operations at the scene.
The policemen were on a routine patrol when the terrorists attacked the mobile phone of the SSP Operations. said Kashif Abbas. He said constables Ajmal and Siraj were among the martyred policemen while mobile officer Mazhar was injured.
The funeral prayers of the two policemen who were martyred in the firing will be offered on the police line, the police said. After the incident, the police also conducted a search operation at the Machni police station, but the accused escaped, the police said. The incident of shooting at the police took place around 1:00 am yesterday, police said.
