KP CM restores health card coverage for entire population

PESHAWAR: In an important move aimed at prioritizing public welfare, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has restored the suspended health card for all residents of the province.
The decision was announced during a meeting presided over by the chief minister where it was declared that free treatment under the health card scheme would be restored to 100% of the people of the province starting from the first day of Ramadan.
An immediate release of Rs 5 billion has been allocated to the State Life Insurance Company to support this initiative. This funding will facilitate the restoration of free medical services within the health card system.
In addition, it was decided to set aside five billion rupees per month to settle the arrears owed by the State Life Insurance Company.
Gandapur emphasized that the welfare of the people remains the top priority of the provincial government, which is pursuing peace and order. He emphasized the importance of the health card system as a major public welfare initiative and reaffirmed its continuity without compromise.
CM Gandapur further emphasized the government’s commitment to ensure transparency in the implementation of the scheme.
He pledged to prioritize the allocation of funds to clear State Life’s arrears and outlined plans to introduce necessary reforms to increase transparency and accountability, thereby maximizing the benefits of the system to the people.
Additionally, a local court in Islamabad on Thursday quashed the orders declaring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapura a “proclaimed offender” in a case of possession of illegal arms and liquor.
The court declared Gandapura an absconder for evading the law in a case registered against him at the Barakahu police station after five Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, six magazines, a bulletproof vest, three teargas shells and liquor bottles were recovered . in 2016.
District and Sessions Court Judge Shahrukh Arjumand quashed the trial court’s order on a review petition filed by Gandapur.
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Gandapur could not appear in the court due to his official engagement as the new KP CM. He asked the court to exclude Gandapur from the proceedings for today.
