ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has announced a decision to ban appointment of officers below 17th and 18th grade for invigilation duties in board examinations.
According to a notification issued by the education ministry, concerns were raised about the appointment of junior officials as inspectors, prompting the ministry to take action. The letter, addressed to all education commissions, emphasized that officials at lower levels see inspection tasks as a form of entertainment and a way to earn extra money.
He stressed that the officers appointed on probation must fulfill their duties and any refusal to do so would result in disciplinary action under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Employees & Discipline Rules 2011.
It was further clarified that officers of grade 18 and above will be assigned to supervise male examination halls while officers of grade 17 and above will supervise female examination halls. These recommendations have been forwarded for implementation. In addition, it was emphasized that all probation recommendations must bear the names and official stamps of the leading institutions. The Ministry of Education has directed all school principals to follow the instructions given in the letter sent to them in this matter.
