Peshawar: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to further refine the production bonus guidelines issued for better utilization of revenue in districts with potential oil and gas production and involve the respective district administrations in consultation.
Work has begun on the establishment of a committee to utilize the income from oil and gas reserves found in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan in the development process in their respective districts. must take advantage of it.
In this case, on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Department of Energy and Power held a one-day advisory seminar in a local hotel on Friday on improving the guidelines for production bonus funds in the district. oil and gas.
Additional Secretary of Oil and Gas Tashfeen Haidar, Additional Secretary of Oil and Gas Ahlak Ahmed, Deputy Secretary Asif Ali, Jawed Afridi and representatives of oil and gas companies, Mari Perminyakyan, Al Haj Oil Company, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company and the district administration were present.
Speaking on this occasion, Special Secretary Tashfeen Haidar said that 42 percent of the country’s crude oil production is produced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 30,000 barrels of oil per day. He said oil and gas are produced in 16 places in the southern districts of the province, including Kohat, Garag, Hangu and Lakki Marwat, and the province receives billions of rupees in salary and federal excise duty on gas.
Tashfeen also said that the KP Energy Department aims to increase the production capacity of oil and gas in the province, which will help in the development and stability of the economy in the future.
Addressing the seminar, Additional Secretary Ahlak Ahmed Khan said that after the discovery of oil and gas in Bakhtiyar Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan, the provincial government has started work on setting up an advisory committee to increase production guidelines bonuses. Development funds will be used transparently through local representatives of this district.
Meanwhile, a group discussion was held to gather tips and suggestions from the workshop participants. At the end of the workshop, Special Secretary Tashfeen Haidar said that a steering panel consisting of members of District Administration, Energy and Power, Planning and Development and Finance will be formed soon.
