Islamabad: The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KSrelief) recently concluded sponsorship of four medical camps in Pakistan as part of its ongoing efforts to combat blindness and eye diseases. Organized in collaboration with Al-Basar International Foundation and Al-Ibrahim Eye Hospital Karachi, these camps aimed to provide advanced eye care facilities to individuals who do not have access to specialized treatment or face financial constraints.
Strategically located in both rural and urban areas of Sindh province, these medical camps targeted regions where eye care services are scarce. The primary goal of this outreach program was to detect and address eye-related problems at an early stage, thereby combating blindness and improving the quality of life of thousands of individuals.
Over 23,356 medical examinations and over 1,656 surgeries were successfully completed during the duration of the program. In addition, 3,788 pairs of vision correction glasses were distributed along with medicines prescribed by doctors. This initiative ensured that individuals not only received basic treatment but also had access to the necessary glasses to improve their vision.
The impact of this effort was profound and reached individuals in various communities of Sindh province. The camps were held in Karachi, Matli, Kundairo and Shikarpur, enabling residents from these areas to avail specialized eye care services and regain their sight.
This campaign reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes and determination to improve the lives of individuals affected by blindness. Through these medical camps, KSrelief has made a significant difference in the lives of thousands of patients, restoring their sight and giving them hope for a brighter future.
