ISLAMABAD: The first ever jeep rally event will be held from May 4 at the historic site of Ravi River in Lahore, where more than 50 vehicles and drivers from all over the country will participate to promote healthy sports activities, Punjab Tourism Minister Secretary. Raja Jahangir Anwar spoke on Tuesday.
Speaking to a private news channel, he said that the traditional event is expected to not only revive the tourism sector but also create new economic opportunities for the region, and that the event will start registration, vehicle marking, technical tests and more. medical examination for all drivers.
TDCP has been organizing desert jeep tours since 2005.
He said that this rally in Lahore was organized for the first time in the city center and said that after Ravi river, similar rallies will be held in other rivers.
He said that bus and rescue facilities will be available for the enthusiasts.
He said the police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have been asked to provide security measures for participants and visitors.
He said, the jeep rally will include several cultural activities that will be organized by the relevant government departments.
He said the march would also help promote the city’s culture and heritage.
Answering a question, he said that such activities would be continued across the country to promote motor sports and the soft image of the country.
